I would like to share with you the 2 hidden facts of gmail, which you can use to your advantage in filtering various emails

First Fact : The plus(+)advantage

  1. For example your email id is myname@gmail.com.
  2. You need to give an email id for your banking information.
  3. Normally you would give myname@gmail.com and then once you receive an email, you might apply a filter.
  4. Now you can simply give your email id as myname+bank@gmail.com.
  5. Similarly you can use any number of names by appending a "+" sign followed by the name.
Second factThe dot(.) advantage

  1. Again taking the same email id myname@gmail.com
  2. You can add as many dots(.) in your email as you want
  3. You can give your email id as my.name@gmail.com and the email will come to you
  4. Or you can simply write it as my.n.am.e@gmail.com
