Tips for importing old email to Gmail

Today we all have our account on gmail since it it gives us a good amount of space for virtually never having the need to delete our emails. Here is simple and swift set of steps that allows to import all old email to Gmail

Setup procedure

Step 1: Tell Gmail the way to retrieve your mail from you old account using POP.
Step 2: Go to Settings > Accounts > Get mail from other accounts > Add another mail account.

Step 3: A new window will pop-up asking you for the email address you're going to import mail from.

Step4: Fill this and then click on "Next Step."

Step 5:validate with "Add Account" and select "Yes, I want to be able to send mail as youremail@gmail.com."

Send email form your old email addresses

you can set up a custom "From:" by going to
Settings > Accounts > Send mail as: > Add another email address.

Click on "Next Step" and then "Send Verification." You'll receive an email with instructions on how to validate your old address. Once it's set up, you can select this address in the "From" field when replying or forwarding.

Note:It might take a while for Gmail to fetch everything, but the fibal result is definitely worthwhile.
